The Korean Red Cross has received a donation of VR flood experience content from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) for 2023. The content, available in 12 languages, aims to enhance disaster response skills and knowledge. Users can learn emergency response and evacuation methods through realistic virtual experiences. The initiative focuses on utilizing advanced technology to engage digital-native youth and strengthen awareness of climate change. The ICRC emphasizes the importance of virtual reality in active training for disaster scenarios, contributing to decision-making processes in natural disasters for Red Cross societies in the Asia Pacific region. The Korean Red Cross, through the Asia Pacific Disaster Resilience Centre, actively collaborates with international organizations to improve disaster response and resilience, particularly in climate change and environmental crises.
